If you’re reading this, assuredly you don’t need a reminder that it’s currently the year of the Nike Air Max 95. The plotline has been genuinely impossible to miss to date, spread out across grey gradient bring-backs, fresh inline “Big Bubble” colorways, and, of course, a range of stellar collaborations. If there’s one category that’s been absent from the celebration, it’s the various tinkered toolings that Sergio Lozano’s silhouette has seen.

All of that changes as the Nike Air Max 95 Zip resurfaces, with StockX’s Brendan Dunne being the first to break the news that “Triple Black” and “Loyal Blue” colorways are in the works. Though our understanding of the former remains limited to that in-hand shot, more images of the latter now come to light, solidifying what to expect for this Holiday 2025 drop. “Bright Crimson” detailing in the Big Bubble cushioning, split Air Max logo on the tongue, and various branding notes alight an otherwise stealthy colorway, comprised of “Loyal Blue” uppers and jet-black zippers and midsoles.

For a quick history lesson, the Air Max 95 Zip was first introduced to the public in 2001, primarily positioned as a women’s model and taking cues from the shrouded aesthetics seen with era peers like the Flightposite or Air Max Sunder. With the latter now back in the mainline fold, retro trends make for suitable waters for the retooled silhouette. For the detail-oriented, you’ll note that the suede siding utilized in this variation is an off-speed pitch for the Air Max Z/Zip, which almost exclusively utilized leather counterparts in its Y2K originals.
