Part of the wider Nike Basketball “Halloween” collection, having just let loose full official images of all the shoes on tap, the concept for the Nike Giannis Freak 7 is “Shapeshift,” seemingly harkening to werewolf aesthetics in this latest do-up. Solidifying that theory is the fact that the Greek Freak has already championed canid motifs with this shoe, famously utilizing a “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” colorway in its earliest stages.

Nonetheless, that inspiration is evident from the jump with a furry grey tongue, spreading its tonality onto “Cement” outlines emanating from the collar and “Silver Bullet” Swooshes. Finishing with rosy pink outsoles and neon green laces, we’re left to wonder if this is a dual holiday edition, tacitly functioning as a Christmas-ready pair on top of its spooky season overtones.
