The Nike Shoe That Got The Streets Talking Is Finally Seeing A Wider Release

Finally, a retail release is coming.

The Nike Shoe That Got The Streets Talking Is Finally Seeing A Wider Release

Nike accomplished something quite rare considering the modern day of product launches. With the GT Future basketball shoe that first appeared during All-Star Weekend on the feet of Wale, Nike was able to capture that organic, no-marketing-needed excitement from the sneaker and hoops community that the brand hadn’t experience since before the COVID-19 era.

Going back to Wale, the DMV-native was the talk of All-Star Weekend thanks to the product placement, leading many to ask an un-sarcastic “What are those?” on social media. The shoes turned out to be the GT Future, and upcoming silhouette from Nike Basketball’s Greater Than series that captured some of the golden-era franchises with aesthetics taken from Flightposites and Hyperflights.

What followed was a slow roll-out of new colorways through what we surmise as an official partnership between Nike and Wale, and after limited-edition drops at Nike’s NY vs. NY circuit this past summer, the GT Future was as elusive as ever.

Now, Nike is ready to bring this stunning silhouette to the masses as this orange “Fire” colorway of the Nike GT Future expected to hit retail on October 25th, 2025 for $190. Official images of the shoes hae surfaced, which only confirm that the viral sneaker is ready to hit release. See below for a closer look and stay tuned for updates.
