Nike LeBron 23 “Grand Opening” Set To Launch On November 1st

In an ironic twist, LeBron James is set to miss his team’s opening day for the first time in his illustrious career, owing to late-developing sciatica that threatens to hold him out of the first few weeks of action. However, he’s been around for plenty of “Grand Opening” nights, something that the Nike LeBron 23 peels back as its story really begins to ramp up.

Throughout the rollout of James’ latest, he and Nike have spared no effort nor expense in hammering home how significant this sneaker is — sending the four-time champ to China, spotlighting him at retail spaces; the list goes on. Even if there are plenty of monumental checkpoints the duo are set to explore with the LeBron 23, it’s hard to say that any are more nostalgic or seminal than his earnest NBA debut.

The pair is a Cavs-friendly nod to the Air Zoom Generation he laced up for that night. The overall colorway and the hardened print on the crown cradle speak to that, while the lion motif across the knit upper showcases how things have elevated since that day. Even if it’s tough to make out from these specific angles, each shoe comes stamped with exactly that — sporting “10-29-2003” on the medial inside collar.

The Nike LeBron 23 “Grand Opening” releases on November 1st in adult + GS sizing, retailing for $210 and $165, respectively. Catch more shots below and watch our Sneaker Release Dates page to find out which stores will be stocking this edition.

A bit earlier on the calendar, the Nike Halloween 2025 slate is also heavy on the hoops shoes — tap in for our latest coverage.
