Now splitting time between a pineapple under the sea and Herzogenaurach, the beloved fry cook is drawing outside the lines as he gets his sea legs with adidas, set to debut a version of the adidas Stan Smith Freizit that mimics show-worn SpongeBob SquarePants shoes.
We’ll start with the silhouette in play. Only surfacing in a public capacity in September, the Stan Smith Freizit adds lugged traction to the iconic tennis design, already leaning into a dress shoe direction in its first colorway. Crucially, that arrangement isn’t all too different from this collaborative pair, trading in for white contrast laces and embossed SpongeBob emblems on the tongue.
To spell out the connection in detail, this pair is clearly aimed at replicating what the fry cook laces up every day for work: a glossy dress shoe in kitchen-friendly all black.
