We’ve noted before how the broader Nike, Inc. family seems hell-bent on filling out the pages of its phonebook, ushering dozens of first-time partners into the fold across every vertical imaginable. Of those various branches, joining hands with the fashion world has been arguably the most notable, bolstering already existing partnerships like that with Bode and Comme des Garçons with fresh faces like Vaquera and Mowalola.
For the latest chapter in that saga, the Swoosh is dreaming up a collaboration with a rather unexpected partner. Here, seen with official images of the Aritzia x Nike LD-1000, the sports giant looks to the Canadian “accessible luxury” imprint to gussy up its recently resurgent runner.
Already chalking off SE pairs under the stewardship of size? and Stüssy, the silhouette’s simplistic and slim-soled construction dovetails nicely into this ritzy application, coated in formal-adjacent deep brown, replete with leather lining and body, and rich suede contrast. Though not depicted in these shots, the retailer eschews traditional co-branding hits for a mini Swoosh on the toe, plus attachable metal charms with their name, first shown in Aritzia’s social media promo for this LD-1000.
