What they may lack in quantity, they more than make up for in quality, tending toward simplistic, impactful fare across their work with New Balance, Nike, and PUMA, among others. As they join up with the Three Stripes, the “impactful” piece remains intact, but there’s nothing simplistic about the Slam Jam x adidas Football collection that’s now hit the net.
Obviously arriving at a hot time for adidas Football, pre-World Cup and post-#BootsOnlySummer, Slam Jam grabs the techy F50 Megaride and F50 Sala for a four-pair collection. We’ll begin with the former, kitting the springy, glossy silhouette with the black-and-white monochromatics that’ve paced previous installations for the European retailer. Slam Jam logo hits on the tongue shroud and at the heel counter spice up either pair, with the brighter of the duo almost capitalizing on a faux-aged look with its cushioning and grey gradient stripes.
The adidas F50 Sala is where Slam Jam truly goes wild. Either colorway delivers genuine hardware transformations, be it with the wavy, grid-like synthetic cage that runs toe to heel on the grey colorway or the exotic materials of the brown. The latter utilizes two doses of that reptilian fabric, coated in refined brown for the exterior before shifting to tan around the collar and on the tongue. Hi-vis yellow-green finalizes that formula with palpable contrast.
The Slam Jam x adidas Football capsule doesn’t have a concrete release date or pricing yet, but expect all four shoes out before the end of the year.
