Don’t blow out the candles for the Nike Air Max 95 just yet. Even amid a party with invitees like Levi’s and Yu-Gi-Oh! and the return of fan-favorite OGs, the festivities may have just reached their most significant piece of programming to date. Following the introduction of the Nike Air Max 1000, the Swoosh’s partnership with Zellerfeld now takes on Sergio Lozano’s design, resulting in the Nike Air Max 95000.

If the base design of the Air Max 1 was the only natural starting point for this initiative, the Air Max 95 is just as much of a no-brainer when it comes to its sequel. Tying into the year-long celebration is only the cherry on top. You can feel that energy in the colorway option, spinning the iconic “Volt” onto a stealthy, next-gen black base. The lattice structure that made the AM1000 such an innovative entrant to the catalog remains here, particularly effective with the ripple-like imprints in the “sole.”

In a pre-release conversation with media, design leads for the Nike Air Max 95000 shared that the foremost innovation with this shoe comes from its “Project Nectar” outsole. Flip the shoe to see it: a ridged traction piece composed of a comparable TPU material to the rest of the body, allowing the one-piece design of the shoe to come together without cement or glue. All told, it takes around 10 minutes to print that outsole section. It takes up to two full days to print the entire shoe.

The Nike Air Max 95000 will make its entrance in this “Black/Volt” colorway, first launching via Nike’s “Mad Stadium” activation at ComplexCon. Those tapped into the early days of the Air Max 1000 will remember its launch at the same showcase — expect similarly limited quantities for its follow-up. A wider drop via Zellerfeld, for those who can’t make it to Las Vegas, will follow on Black Friday, November 28th. Retail is set at $250.
