A welcome encore.

Up There Reveals A Second ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 “Natsukashii”

Australian sneaker boutique Up There has done a fine job making a name for itself over the past year or so, juggling increasingly strong projects with ASICS and New Balance to much acclaim. The store’s most recent effort was the ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 “Natsukashii,” translated to “nostalgia” in English, which sold out immediately upon arrival earlier this month. Thankfully, Up There has an encore style dropping in short order.

While the first Up There Kayano 12.1 featured an earthy “Irvine Green” colorway, this follow-up edition keeps things crisp with a mostly white upper. The accents remain the same, led by red hits on the tongue, heel, and outsole. Up There’s signature green color takes over the insoles, and the store’s logo is flipped upside down on tags along the lateral side. The GEL-Kayano 12.1 is a relatively new hybrid model that pairs the upper of the GEL-Kayano 12 (from 2006) with the sole unit of the GEL-Nimbus 17 (from 2015). It’s one of a few hybrid styles in ASICS’ current lineup, joined by others like the GEL-Nimbus 10.1.

The white Up There x ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 “Natsukashii” has already released in-store at Up There. An online release is set for Monday, October 27th. See detailed images below if you’ll be trying your luck.
