Not now, mom!

Martine Rose’s Nike Collab For Gamers Is Inspired By 1990s LAN Parties

Get your dial-up ready and throw some Hot Pockets in the oven. For her latest Nike collaboration, Martine Rose is transporting us back to the days of 1990s LAN parties with an extensive apparel lineup, a custom gaming chair, and two fresh styles of the designer’s signature Shox MR4 mule.

Nike actually chose to debut the collaboration on a gamer, epitomizing the rise of esports not only in the digital world but also across today’s leading sportswear brands. SonicFox debuted the black/white/red Shox MR4 style seen here at the EVO Mortal Kombat 1 championship in Las Vegas back in August. He and four other top gamers come together for the campaign, each given their own avatar and styled in Martine Rose x Nike apparel.

The collaboration revisits the open-backed mule style of the Nike Shox R4, which Martine Rose first introduced in 2022 (famously worn by Kendrick Lamar shortly after). A linear texture around the forefoot and heel nods to common gaming hardware, while Martine Rose’s name replaces Shox branding on the tongue. Two colorways are on tap: a grey/black with red and yellow Swoosh logos, and an all-red pair.

The Martine Rose x Nike collection will be available globally on October 30th through Nike and select retailers. See official images of the shoes below.
