The New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Builds A “Silver Birch” Foundation

New Balance’s recent roster of innovative tech and radical silhouettes, be it the New Balance 204L or the New Balance 2000, is an obvious point where the brand makes headlines. However, those that have been rocking with the Boston brand beyond its 2020s revival know that their stable of lifestyle icons remains the bread and butter.

When it comes to their Made in UK arm, the Allerdale has been the ritzy new introduction, while the New Balance 991v2 forges ahead as the earnest face of the Flimby initiative. In their Fall/Winter 2025 preview, New Balance (NB) again relied heavily on the model in letting devotees know what was on the horizon.

The New Balance 991v2 “Silver Birch” featured here was one of the more notable pairs in that crop, rather inventive in terms of color blocking with a naturalistic mesh base before lightening in the panels above. Now seen in full, the addition of dots of black contrast and hi-vis electric green in the sole unit makes for one of the more attractive 991v2s we’ve seen in the past few months.

The New Balance 991v2 Made in UK “Silver Birch” is already populating retail channels, so expect a wider NB.com launch sometime soon. A $250 retail price is expected via stateside shops.
