Brain Dead and adidas are thick as thieves at this point — one of the more reliable partnerships in the Three Stripes register as things currently stand. Unbelievably, the two partners are staring down their fifth capsule of the year, following their bowling shoe, Forest Hills, Japan, and Barricade 13 chapters.
Number five goes in a distinctly archival direction, honing in on the Taekwondo and the Climacool 2. We’ll begin with the latter, reviving the 2003 design for the first time in the 2020s, previously revisited with a quick bring-back effort around 2017. True to form, Brain Dead brings the Climacool 2 back with a can’t-miss colorway, capturing eccentric details like a silver quarter cage, green pinstripe on the heel, and yellow exposed stitching to make their collab edition even more attention-grabbing than the silhouette already is.
Perhaps as a way to balance out that shoe, the Brain Dead adidas Taekwondo sticks to a more conservative script. Already a silhouette lingering in the public consciousness as a “balletcore” attendee, Brain Dead centers pitch-inspired quilted detailing on the toe and pins co-branded hits under the collar and on the heel. Overall, this black/white/gum colorway is eminently wearable and does well in its subtlety.
The Brain Dead x adidas collection is listed at select retail outlets for a November 1st launch, but that hasn’t yet been reflected via adidas CONFIRMED or the Three Stripes’ own calendar. Keep our coverage close to find out exactly when you’ll have the chance to pick up your pair(s).
