Matt Varga Nike’s waffle-soled actions are very much in the vogue in their current catalog. All of the shoes that fit the criteria have followed essentially the same cadence; the LD-1000 came back with the help of Stussy, the Field General with Union, and the Moon Shoe most recently with Jacquemus.
Bode’s efforts on the Astrograbber took a bit of time to result in an earnest inline bring-back, but the silhouette is becoming an increasingly frequent sight on the newswire. After chalking off some colorful editions for its debut, Beaverton designers look to a more tonal air as it extends its run. Gum soles accompany both the Nike Astrograbber “Coconut Milk” and “Dark Team Red,” additionally united in their use of suede bodies for the erstwhile gridiron shoe. Woven yet thinned laces round out either edition, positioned well with their simplistic builds as they look to a lifestyle rebrand.
Expect to see the Nike Astrograbber in these two colorways in the coming weeks, retailing for $135.
