There’s no doubt about it, the heat around the Three Stripes’ current roster of basketball shoes is at a modern high-water mark. However, it’s an archival model that continues to populate our newswire, the adidas Jabbar Hi. Already visited by Willy Chavarria, Jerry Lorenzo, and Grace Wales Bonner, the former all-time scorer’s signature shoe continues to make a fashion-forward push into the mainline, now with an “Indigo Flowers” edition.

As noted in our title, this variation sees the erstwhile hoops shoe capture an all suede build, but it’s clear that the inspiration comes from a different fabric. Especially with the red laces inserted, the ties to Sashiko denim are abundantly clear, ditching the reconstructed touches for a floral arrangement. An off-white sole unit adds some aged/vintage appeal while gilded branding gussies up the overall profile, but overall this pair centers around its cerulean shading and material swap.
