This Kids’ Air Jordan 1 Low Is “Inspired By The Greatest”

The return of NBA programming to NBC has brought with it another spotlight for the GOAT: the bite-sized “Insights to Excellence” segment in which Michael Jordan waxes poetic on the current pro hoops landscape. One of the few remaining celebrities with a genuine level of mystique behind him, His Airness’ latest endeavor is just another flare-up in bringing his legendary career to the masses anew. Those with an interest in sneakers likely never lost sight of that, again at the fore with the Air Jordan 1 Low “Inspired By The Greatest.”

In retro text on a sticker and new tongue branding, the moniker in our title tangibly paints this version. Zoom out from that accessory and you’ll find it rather faithfully reflects the colorway on tap here, a blend of shimmering metallic silver through the overlays that’s contrasted by icy (figurative) traction underfoot and icy (literal) embroidery on the heel. Longtime collectors may recognize this moniker, reflected in part on packaging for shoes like the Air Jordan 12, which proudly stated they carry “Quality Inspired By The Greatest Player Ever.” Whether this is a meta tie-back to the retro legacy or just another stamp of Mike’s overall career, Beaverton ensures here that they’ve got a method to bring that winning air to the younger set.

The Air Jordan 1 Low “Inspired By The Greatest” is available now via Nike.com, retailing for $110 in grade school sizing only.
