In a video titled “Nike SB Unboxing,” he shared a look at a ton of recent and upcoming products from the sub-brand, including some never-before-seen versions of the Nike SB P-Rod 1.
Before earnestly beginning the promise in the title, P-Rod went a bit “inside baseball” regarding the release strategy for his revitalized signature, detailing how the partners plan to keep certain colorways of the P-Rod 1 “in rotation” as a counter to more limited colorways that’ll rely on a more “one-and-done” style strategy. Subsequently, what Rodriguez described as a Dodgers-style colorway was the first to start off the festivities, painted with two different tones of grey suede and a royal blue Swoosh. Of the details, P-Rod described that the deep embossing on the quilted counter for that pair is one of his favorites.
Minutes later, he shared that an all-wheat arrangement, stemming from Rodriguez’s affinity for Tom Penny and his lasting memories of the UK skater’s similarly clad excels. Red/black checkered insoles add some pop on the interior. This “Wheat” edition is a candidate to be one of the “always-on-shelves” editions alluded to earlier. Widening the scope to general Nike SB offerings, he also gave viewers a peek at some recent and upcoming inline output: the Nike SB Dunk Low “Verdugo Mountains,” “Persian Violet,” and “Deep Fir Green” all made the cut.
