A Brief Overview
The Rare Air Jordan 11s are not an original colorway of the Air Jordan 11, but rather a nod to previously scrapped samples and propositions for the shoe. The JORDAN lettering on the lace eyelets was in fact an earlier idea created by the shoe’s architect Tinker Hatfield. The actual released version did not include the lettering, opting for a sleeker, more refined look. However, in 2006, Jordan Brand released the first “Defining Moments Package,” bringing to light this forgotten direction.
The “Rare Air” design concept returns to this detail, combining it with a white, red, and blue colorway seen across the other models in the Rare Air series (the Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 4). While the shoes released earlier globally, the U.S. release date is confirmed for November 5th, 2025.
