Sneaker News Jordan Brand’s historic year of releases will be remembered in a number of different ways. For the purists, it’s the return of several originals from the 1980s and 1990s that carried the brand’s purpose, and it’s hard to argue given just how celebrated these releases were. There’s still more to go in 2025, and for many, the return of the Taxi Jordan 12s is the cherry on top for an already amazing year for the Jumpman.

A Brief Overview
The Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” is an original colorway of the model; it released in late 1996 and was worn by Michael Jordan during the 1996/1997 regular season. The Air Jordan 12 is noted for its textured leather mudguard, the distinct stitch lines on the upper, and exposed carbon-fiber plate in the soles, and the metallic eyelets. This colorway is dubbed the “Taxi” for the use of “Taxi Yellow” around the shoe; it has no connection to literal taxi-cabs.
After the original release in late 1996, the Taxi Jordan 12s released again in 2008 (part of the two-shoe “Countdown Pack”) and again in 2013 as a standalone release. Twelve years later, Jordan Brand is bringing back this cherished gem on SNKRS and select retailers (See the store list above, or visit our Jordan Release Dates page).
When are the Jordan 12 Taxis coming out?
The Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” is set to release on November 8th, 2025. The shoes will be available in full family sizes: Adult ($215), Grade School/Big Kids ($165), Pre-School/Little Kids ($105), and Toddler ($95). The shoes will be available on Nike SNKRS, larger retailers such as Foot Locker, DICK’S, Finish Line, JD Sports, and Champs, and independent boutique retailers such as Sneaker Politics, Extra Butter, CNCPTS, and more.
