“Sanded Purple” Slinks Onto This Murdered-Out Nike Air Max 90

In just a few short weeks, we’ll officially close the book on the year-long celebration of the Nike Air Max 95. Almost the entire way through, we’ve been mentioning the distance between the 25th anniversary of Sergio Lozano’s design and the treatment that the Air Max 90 has received. While the Tinker Hatfield creation got some numbers on the board by way of Patta and the Grateful Dead, the model has largely spent its milestone sticking to its day-to-day routine.

To phrase it a bit less obliquely, special editions haven’t been the foremost thing on the front of mind. Instead, the AM90 has persisted in its usual reign of sensible general release colorways. Another one now comes to light with the Nike Air Max 90 “Sanded Purple,” not straying too far from a “Triple Black” composition with a “Dark Smoke Grey” leather body. Those royal accents appear centered down the shoe’s midline, coating branding notes on the tongue, heel, and insole to break up an otherwise flooded profile. Even with those more vibrant interruptions, this presents as a perfect darkened pair to pull out during the colder months ahead.

As an earnest GR, the Nike Air Max 90 “Sanded Purple” doesn’t accompany its official images with a concrete date. In lieu of one, expect this pair to land during the Holiday 2025/Spring 2026 slate, clocking in at the silhouette’s usual $130 sticker price.
