We all know how much Nike, Inc. loves an anniversary. While the ongoings for the Air Jordan 5 and Air Max 95 have been in clear view throughout the past 11 months and change, the Jumpman signaled its intentions to get a head start on their next celebrant, teeing off the Air Jordan 11 “City Pack,” first focusing its efforts on Houston, Atlanta, and Vegas.
However visible and splashy those US-centric colorways were at first, the Air Jordan 11 “Tokyo” and Air Jordan 11 “China” can’t be left out of the mix. The latter is in focus today as official images surface, giving us a complete understanding of what it’ll have in tow once it lands overseas. The primary point of intrigue is no doubt the beaded arrangement that takes the place of the usual ballistic mesh in a floral/geometric pattern.
Looking at the collection overall, this continues the reinvention of trademark AJ11 features, following in the footsteps of the suede replacement of patent leather on said stateside editions. From there, a tonal burgundy, off-white, and pastel sienna colorway overtakes the shoe, including a suede swatch at the very heel. To make good on its title, Hanzi lettering appears on the tongue tag; translations of “Air Jordan 11” and “more than his skills” appear among a variety of brand- and Mike-specific mottos.
The Air Jordan 11 “China” is expected to touch down sometime in December. Similar to the predecessors we’ve mentioned throughout this piece, be ready for this colorway to only be available via select local retailers.
