When all is said and done, it’ll be tough to parse exactly which of New Balance’s fresh entries into the catalog will stand as their most significant. On one hand, the dawn of the New Balance 204L has given the Boston brand one of the stronger pillars of the ongoing slim-soled movement. On the other, the New Balance 2000 opened up a new futuristic and sporty lane for the company.

That only continues as fresh color options trickle out, something bolstered by the New Balance 2000 “Black/Iridescent” in play here. Atop a grounded black mesh foundation, color-changing viridescent hues imbue the next-gen composition with throwback sportsyle aesthetics, only assisted by copper ABZORB pods in the sole. It’s a moment where the blocking opportunities the 2000 has at its fingertips comes into view, with this multicolor approach marking a stark divergence from the monochromatic looks that’ve defined it so far, both in numerous inline applications and even spreading into its collaborative flank.

The New Balance 2000 “Iridescent” is listed via overseas outlets with a December 10th release date. It’s unclear whether that’ll hold when it comes to a stateside release; generally you can expect a drop sometime in the Holiday 2025 window and a $170 retail price.
