The Travis Scott shoes rumor mill keeps on spinning. Just weeks after dropping one of the most sought-after sneakers of all time in the new Travis Scott x Fragment Design x Air Jordan 1 Low OG, La Flame pulled up to the Las Vegas Grand Prix in an outfit that’s got people wondering if he’s jumping from Jordan Brand to adidas.
As shown above and below, Travis arrived at the Formula 1 race wearing a collaborative jacket by NEIGHBORHOOD and adidas Y-3, the latter being the high-fashion division of adidas led by Yohji Yamamoto. And as the internet does, speculation immediately kicked into high gear. Some are now convinced this signals a potential move from Nike Inc. to the Three Stripes, a seismic shift if true, and one that would place Travis alongside big names like Kanye West and Jerry Lorenzo. Adding even more fuel to the fire, the adidas Y-3 Instagram account commented a shushing-face emoji on a video of Travis at the race.
This follows unsubstantiated rumors from late August claiming Travis and Jordan Brand were at a crossroads, with reports of interest from Vans and a massive offer from adidas (take that with a large grain of salt). Travis Scott and Jordan Brand are currently signed until 2027, but this latest development has got us all trying to connect the dots if there’s in fact something larger at play.
Rest assured we’ll be tracking this story closely over the coming months.
