This Jordan MVP 92 Is An Appetizer For The Air Jordan 7 Anniversary In 2027

Looking back at the history of the Air Jordan 7, the original 1992 colorways were rather tame in their color-blocking style. While Nike clearly went beyond the classic white/black/red palette with stunners like the “Bordeaux” and”Hare”, it was clear that the high-contrast two-toned look was something to not be explored. At the time, Nike Basketball footwear was largely all-white or all-black; going off-kilt was color was rare, which is why previous pairs like the Air Jordan 6 “Carmine” were so memorable.

This upcoming Jordan MVP 92 stirs up some new colorway concepts from the parent model, revealing a black suede base layer with a white leather overlay. While Jordan Brand explored this styling in its Retro era from the 2000s and beyond, we feel the Air Jordan 7 has yet to reach its full potential with color-blocking. This upcoming Spring 2026 release of the MVP 92 offers a taste of some possible options for the AJ7, especially considering its 35th Anniversary is coming in 2027.

For now, you’ll have to enjoy the Jordan MVP 92 to get your VII fix; these are available now on Nike for $145. More details to come on in our Jordan releases 2026 page.
