The timelessness of Nike footwear models is unmatched. Wherever you pull from the timeline of innovation, Nike sneakers have always had their appeal, whether it be for performance needs or to put the finishing touch on the Friday ‘fit. The Shox R4 is one of those silhouettes that was made to dominate the track, but earned the top prize in street fashion across the world; it’s why this quarter-century old sneaker continues to be a hit in 2025.

Although we’ve been treated with an unending string of R4 styles in mens and womens sizing, Nike continues to surprise with its creative spins. It’s not often we’ve seen the silhouette go outside its usual build, but the snakeskin edition is evidence of the R4’s versatility. Wrapped in a purple snakeskin, these Nike Shox shoes remind us of the various Kobe-themed Air Force 1s that have dropped month after month. These might as well have the Black Mamba’s sheath logo on the tongue or heel, or even on the silver Shox columns at the heel.
