Andrew Rizzo The “mystery box” trend has become a full-on viral phenomenon in the sneaker world over the past few years. If your Instagram feed looks anything like ours, you’ve probably seen plenty of blind unboxings where creators pull surprise heat (or surprise defeat). Jumping in on the craze, Drake and Nike are offering a $50 mystery box that gives fans a shot at unreleased NOCTA product.
The boxes are split into four tiers. Tier 4 is the standard level and includes tees, hoodies, caps, sweats, and a few under-the-radar footwear styles. A select number of buyers will be upgraded into the higher tiers.
Tier 3, limited to 750 units, features sold-out and waitlist items like Hot Step II and III styles, puffer jackets, and camo shorts.
Tier 2 is where things start to get interesting. Capped at 300 units, this tier contains exclusive friends-and-family items such as the “EYBL” and “Kentucky” NOCTA Glides, vests, skate decks, and even a golf bag.
Tier 1 is the pinnacle at just 40 units, loaded with rare exclusives and true 1-of-1 pieces made specifically for Drake. Highlights include custom Air Force 1s, a snakeskin Hot Step I, and premium leather jackets and pants. While not currently listed on the NOCTA site, the brand’s IG teased what appears to be an unreleased Drake Air Max Plus in Toronto Raptors colors.
