Updated October 3rd, 2024: Just one day after news of the NOCTA Nike Air Max Plus broke, we’re now getting a first look at three colorways. While the shape of the silhouette largely remains, the details within are radically changed, swapping out the defining TPU waves for a radial arrangement that graces both the medial and lateral sides. Additionally, a synthetic mesh material now dresses the entirety of the upper, and hiking-inspired pull closure replaces the traditional lacing system. True to Nike’s collab strategy, a slew of co-branding details appear throughout the profile, most eye-catching with a debossed NOCTA logo at the very forefoot.
As of writing, further release details haven’t arrived – we’re still expecting all three of these shoes to materialize in 2025. Check out the full suite of first look images just ahead via @moreofnocta.
Original article published October 2nd, 2024: Regardless of how bumpy his year has been in regards to music, Drake’s status as a valued commodity is unchanged in Beaverton. A consistent stream of new looks for his NOCTA Hot Step 2 speak to that point, but next year is set to widen the scope of his Swoosh output. After only marking the Air Force 1 and his own signature shoes, Champagne Papi is set to earn a NOCTA Nike Air Max Plus in 2025.
While not one of the Swoosh offerings most would immediately associate with him, the Air Max Plus and Drake have collided for a few notable moments. Chief among them was the “Stage Use Only” Air Max Plus from back in 2018 (also minted in all-white), adding new laces and fresh flashy touches to the Tn for his “Aubrey and the Three Migos” tour. Beaverton would go on to release a similar but decidedly peripheral take on that concept with the Air Max Plus Toggle in 2023, a concept that’s stretched into this year with the Air Max Plus “Utility.”
Of course, we’re going on a decade since Drake first shared those specially done up Tns. A reprisal of their design for this 2025 edition may thus be unlikely, but it’s essentially the only indication we have on how the end product may look.
