Tyrese Haliburton Teases The PUMA Hali 1 In Black Patent Leather

Every dark cloud has a silver lining. As the Indiana Pacers’ early struggles undercut what principals like Aaron Nesmith and Rick Carlisle promised would be a playoff squad despite their leader, that mantra is no doubt what the Hoosier State faithful must cling onto as the season draws on. Despite Tyrese Haliburton remaining on track to miss out on this year’s action entirely, he’s been a source of some of that good news, marching on in the debut run for his PUMA Hali 1, including a game-worn moment by none other than sneaker free agent Steph Curry.

The former King hasn’t had any trouble drumming up excitement on his own two, either. In similar fashion to cross-conference rival Ja Morant, Haliburton has kept busy amid his rehabilitation program by “leaking” upcoming colorways of his signature shoe. Following the PUMA Hali 1 “Love and Basketball” comes the PUMA Hali 1 in black patent leather. True to that logline, glossy nocturnal materials throughout the upper are the chief draw, continued with a smattering of greys in Salehe Bembury’s trademark textures in the sole unit. Overall, it seems like a nod to Hali’s penchant for eccentric “tunnel fits,” but could more specifically alludes to his Prada loafers worn for Media Day 2024-25.

In addition to showcasing an in-hand shot via his Instagram, Tyrese also laced up the shoe himself, paired with a leather jacket bearing his PUMA signature logo. Whether that piece of apparel is also in the works for a public release is unconfirmed, as are any release details surrounding this colorway. While we await that info, catch a full slew of images below and watch our Sneaker Release Dates hub for updates.

Elsewhere in the Big Cat’s universe, the PUMA Speedcat Wedge continues to gain traction as the 2010s mashup category is on the rise.
