It’s becoming increasingly evident that Nike’s decision to unlock the Deion Sanders shoe vault was never just about riding the wave of attention he earned while coaching his kids at Colorado. Far from it. Nike seems committed to running back the greatest hits of Prime Time’s signature line, tapping into the sizable OG collector base that still remembers the golden era of 90s cross-trainers and the peak of Deion’s powers.
While Nike hasn’t confirmed a firm transition point, all signs point to the brand moving past the original Air Diamond Turf and shifting focus to the Air Diamond Turf II in the seasons ahead. Deion’s second signature model debuted in 1994 and was worn during his lone season with the San Francisco 49ers, the year he won his first Super Bowl ring. We previously reported that the model’s original “Red/Gold” colorway is returning in Spring 2026, and now Sneaker Files reports that the “49ers” edition is lined up for a Fall 2026 comeback.
This is an original colorway from 1994 and last returned to shelves in 2012, but even those later pairs are likely crumbling by now. If it follows the same formula of recent Deion retros, expect a faithful build with classic materials and color blocking.
The Nike Air Diamond Turf II “49ers” is currently slated for Fall 2026, which means a release sometime between July and September next year. Retail will be $170 USD. See images of the 2012 edition below and keep our Sneaker Release Dates page handy for updates.
