The Salomon ACS PRO “20th Anniversary” Takes Inspo From An Unreleased Sample

Salomon’s rise has been one of the most impressive glow-up stories in the sneaker world over the past few years. Born as a ski-edge manufacturer in the French Alps, the brand has quickly adapted to the rhythms of sneaker culture and all the quirks that come with it, showing a surprisingly deep understanding of the space it now occupies.

Not unlike what we’ve seen from Jordan Brand, Salomon is digging into its own vault to celebrate the 20th anniversary of one of its most popular models, the ACS PRO trail runner. The ACS PRO has become a go-to for hikers and lifestyle wearers alike, offering a more rugged alternative to cuts like the XT-6 and XT-4. Collabs with names like L’Art de l’Automobile and Maison Margiela have done well to boost its street cred in recent seasons.

For the ACS PRO’s 20th anniversary, Salomon is reviving an unreleased sample version of the sneaker from 2005. The shoe comes dressed in palette of “Rich Old Gold/Silver Cloud/Black,” befitting the milestone with an undeniably premium touch. Though inspired by a 2005 sample, pretty much all established hardware remains intact.

To support the launch, Salomon has hidden special winning codes across Paris, New York, and Mexico City that unlock early access starting today. More information will be announced via the @salomonsportstyle Instagram page. The shoe releases globally on December 10th at 4:00 AM ET via salomon.com and select retailers, priced at €200 (about $235 USD). See official images below if you’re a fan.
