Steph Curry Slides Into The Nike Air Zoom Flight “The Glove”

There are a number of factors that make the ongoing sneaker free agency of one Stephen Wardell Curry a point of intrigue. Still, at the most base level, it’s so shockingly rare that someone with his cachet, Hall of Fame resume, and overall stardom ever reaches a point where a brand hasn’t already tied down their services. As the saga marches on, it’s evident that #30 is keenly aware of this rare territory, making the most of his new unaffiliated status again by lacing up the Nike Air Zoom Flight “The Glove.”

To briefly recap, on the hardwood, the Baby Faced Assassin has laced up iconic hoops shoes like the Kobe 6, additionally paying homage to teammates, current and former, by choosing Klay Thompson’s ANTA signature and Jimmy Butler’s Li-Ning counterpart. Off the court, Curry’s sensibilities have gravitated towards the ’90s era of basketball-turned-lifestyle, this the latest in a string that’s already touched Shaquille O’Neal’s Reebok Shaqnosis, Penny Hardaway’s Nike Air Penny 2, and the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game.”

Given the fact that he’s squarely of the millennial generation, said crate-digging efforts no doubt reflect shoes he grew up admiring, now afforded the opportunity to put his weight and celebrity behind it. And of course, those two motivations of paying homage and digging into throwback aesthetics collide with the shoe at hand, a partial “full circle” moment in the fact that he plays alongside Gary Payton II.

With the remnants of Steph’s UA contract keeping Curry Brand kicks in stores through 2026, it may be a while yet before we get a concrete update on who’ll have the legend under contract for the foreseeable future. We’ll keep you in the loop with any updates on that front, but in the meantime, check out some “tunnel fit” shots below.
