The Legendary Air Jordan 4 “Bred” Returns Holiday 2026

The Air Jordan 4 “Bred” is one of the most iconic sneakers ever made, a lifelong grail for many and a guaranteed headliner any time it returns. According to zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files, the legendary pair is now expected to come back for Holiday 2026, setting up what will easily be one of next year’s most anticipated drops.

The most recent “Bred” Jordan 4 drop came in early 2024 through a “Reimagined” version, which swapped the shoe’s original nubuck upper for tumbled leather. Quality was strong, but as sneaker purists do, many said they’d rather just see a true OG retro. If that’s you, this is the update you wanted. The 2026 retro is expected to follow original specs with a nubuck upper, Nike Air on the heel, Nike branding on the outsole, and the classic “Black/Fire Red/Cement Grey/Summit White” color palette. The last authentic take arrived in 2019, pictured below for reference.

When did the Jordan 4 “Bred” originally release?

The Air Jordan 4 “Bred” debuted in 1989 as part of the model’s original lineup alongside the “White Cement,” “Fire Red,” and “Military Blue.”

How many retros have the “Bred” 4s had?

Several “Bred” 4s have dropped over the years. The first retro arrived in 1999 for the silhouette’s tenth anniversary. Jumpman-heel versions followed in 2008 as part of the Countdown Pack and again in 2012 for the model’s 23rd anniversary. A 2019 release marked the return of Nike Air branding, and a “Reimagined” leather interpretation dropped in February 2024.

When do the “Bred” 4s drop?

The Jordan 4 “Bred” retro is expected to land Holiday 2026, meaning sometime between next October and December. Given how the brand approached this year’s “Black Cat” 4s, it would not be surprising to see these serve as the marquee Black Friday release. Full family sizing is expected.
