If they weren’t already, things are suddenly very interesting at the Mecca, as the Knickerbockers find themselves at the middle of intensifying trade rumors surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo. As things currently stand, though, our hometown team is more or less making good on projections that they’d be the team to beat in the Eastern Conference, once again led by the King of New York in Jalen Brunson.
On top of his status as NY’s captain, he remains the current king of Kobe’s in the league, highlighted by the impending launch of his own Jalen Brunson Kobe 6 “Statue of Liberty,” and a continually deep register of exclusive heat. Though first pulled out the closet in a matchup against the Mavericks on November 19th, now the All-NBAer shares some studio shots of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Sunrise.” Translucent textures give way in the upper give way to a blue sky/sunny ombre that defines the profile of the shoe overall, continued with a tri-color sole unit and aligning with the translucent traction underfoot. A pale yellow lace unit rounds out the solar nods, while matte black Swooshes and sheath logos add some grounded effect.
You’ll note that Brunson expressly tags this as the “Sunrise” PE, flagging that they’ll remain in his closet for the foreseeable future. We will note, however, that the same convention went for the “Statue of Liberty” — it’d take about a year’s time for that shoe to hit the public, but it eventually did all the same. Should we hear any whispers of that coming to pass for this brighter counterpart, we’ll keep you updated as always.
