Andrew Rizzo Italian designer and artist Caterina Mongillo, better known as Metagirl, checked off her first sneaker collaboration earlier this year with a Saucony ProGrid Paramount, delivering a deeply nuanced style called “Daughter Of The Moon.” Featuring frills, open mesh, and a distinctly feminine aesthetic, the shoe sold quickly upon release and can. As embellished as that public version was, it pales in comparison to this custom edition Metagirl just shared on her socials.
The “Daughter Of The Moon” is here is outfitted with a range of premium accessories, namely an abundance of real freshwater pearls. Flat-back crystals, Swarovski bicone beads, bow charms, and hand-sewn grey ruffles around the forefoot further elevate the design, combining to add significant visual weight and an even more heightened sense of craftsmanship.
Just six pairs of these customs will be released through metagirlstudio.com on December 18th. Pricing has not been announced, but given the materials and labor involved, these are expected to come at a premium. See detailed images below if this one’s on your radar.
