The Nike Air Trainer Huarache Gestures At A Past Look With “Challenge Red”

Close but no cigar.

The Nike Air Trainer Huarache Gestures At A Past Look With “Challenge Red”

Propelled by a Corteiz trio around the turn of ’24/’25, the Nike Air Trainer Huarache is beginning to become a mainline factor once again. While we’ve already seen Nike designers bring novel energy to the silhouette, a large chunk of its colorways so far have focused on offering second chances at already established colorways, something that’s approached but not met with the Nike Air Trainer Huarache “Challenge Red.”

For heads active in the 2010s, you’ll immediately recognize some similarities to the “Love/Hate” pack from 2014, an unofficial fan nickname attached to a duo of inverted black/red editions. Indeed, that arrangement of fierty suede and jet black trim sticks around as we look to this “Challenge Red” counterpart, but it’s a patch of pink in the outsole that makes this a product of its own. Nonetheless, this does do a great job of threading the needle between a sporty all-around profile that leans into the Trainer Huarache’s strengths, and potentially acting as a pseudo “Valentine’s Day” variant.

The Nike Air Trainer Huarache “Challenge Red” should be coming for Spring 2026, with an expected $170 retail price upon arrival. Check out official images below and keep our Sneaker Release Dates hub within reach for any additional particulars as they surface.
