Nike Delivers “Platinum Violet” On The Air Max Sunder

Nike Delivers “Platinum Violet” On The Air Max Sunder

The Sunder slowdown continues as Nike will likely pull this silhouette from the market after a near two-year-long run. First delivered as a women’s exclusive silhouette for some unknown reason, Nike is letting its intentions be known with this new “Platinum Violet” iteration.

Utilizing the standard color-blocking of tone-on-black, Nike makes use of a soft pink shade on the technical upper, pairing it with the black/silver armored mudguard that wraps around the shoe. Beneath is an all-black outsole, staying true to the Sunder’s original design.

The Sunder is one of those less-than-mainstream models that were ahead of its time upon its 1999 release; with technical design in demand, now seemed like the perfect time to bring the Sunder back into the fold. However, with the exception of the original launch colors and the laudable collaboration with Kids Of Immigrants, the Air Max Sunder‘s time in the spotlight seems over–for now.

This latest women’s colorway has begun to pop up on Nike.com in APAC regions; a U.S. release is likely arriving in early 2026 for $190.
