Matt Varga As the woman herself detailed to us back when her collaboration graced the model, Metagirl provided the first domino in the resurgence of the ProGrid Paramount. Following the lifespan of so many retro runners that’ve hit the shelves anew in the past decade, the shoe began life as a performance model before falling out of phase, now given the chance to experience a trendier life as a lifestyle model.
While that aforementioned collaboration dropping midway through 2025 means the model is now familiar to those paying attention, the earnest catalog entrance of the Saucony ProGrid Paramount is noteworthy in and of itself. The silhouette itself carries a ton of unexpected compositional notes, from the lined exterior collar, to the lack of overlays through the bulk of its mesh upper, to the concentric heel design at the rear. On a hardware level, things may be a bit alien to the casual consumer, but the color options stick in familiar territory; a contrast black mesh defines one, golden overlays and pink trim play to the women’s side on the other, before a Cowboys/Yankees navy/silver closes out this introductory set.
The Saucony ProGrid Paramount in the black/grey and white/gold colorways depicted below have already started hitting European retailers and global Saucony sites. Given that, don’t be surprised to see all three of these colorways beginning populating stateside retailers in short order. A US retail price of $180 is expected upon arrival.
