Andrew Rizzo Nike deserves some major props for how it handled the debut of Nike Mind, seeding pairs of both the slip-on and sneaker to media members right before release, creating a huge viral moment and all but guaranteeing a full sell-out on launch day. Designed to stimulate the brain by way of neuroreceptors in the foot, Nike Mind is something the brand has been working toward for over a decade, far and away its most innovative endeavor yet in the realm of warm-up and recovery footwear. Touted as both a slip-on (001) and sneaker (002), each individual shoe features 22 foam nodes that press up into the footbed, allowing the wearer to fully feel the terrain below and in turn feel more mentally grounded.
Of course, technology is only half the story. Visually, the Mind 001 features a futuristic design many have jokingly likened to “Cybertrucks for the feet,” a sculptural, retro-futuristic look taken with crinkled edges and perforated material across the forefoot.
The Nike Mind 001 “Mineral Slate” doesn’t have a concrete release date yet, but a Spring/Summer 2026 drop seems likely. Retail is set at $95 USD, though early resale prices for the model have surpassed double that figure. That’s to say we suggest moving quickly if you’re set on securing a pair.
