South Beach In England: The New Balance 991v2 Goes “Porcelain”

And a bit of a price hike, to boot.

South Beach In England: The New Balance 991v2 Goes “Porcelain”

New Balance’s Made in UK platform, across staples like the 991v2 or 1500, or newcomers like the Allerdale, has always stood for quality above all else. In that pursuit, we’ve grown accustomed to the silhouette embracing understated style, if not “quiet luxury” aesthetics.

However, in recent seasonal capsules, we’ve seen the 991v2 in particular begin to branch out, be it via a hi-vis “Silver Birch” or a purple-popped “Raven” shortly after. Continuing that trend of subverting our expectations and those of the audience, a rare “South Beach” colorway enters the door at New Balance, here demonstrated with vivid “Porcelain” teal centered on the upper and flecks of pink in the N branding and the ABZORB pods below.

Outside of the aesthetics, we should note that this arrives as part of a slew of Made in UK products with reported price premiums, with this one jumping up about $10 from what we’ve seen in the past year or so. The New Balance 991v2, as evidenced by these retailer shots below, is available now at select overseas outlets. Expect a wider launch via New Balance US and international sooner rather than later; a retail price of $270 is expected.
