Even accounting for their roster of earnest performance models and signature athletes, doing so was a prudent move; the visible tech model earnestly presented a new aesthetic within the NB catalog.
In the time since, we’ve seen the 2000 flit towards the brand’s well-known penchant for neutral tones, whether bracketed by more vibrant interplay or left to those calmer hues entirely. As the sneaker settles into 2026 as a widely accessible member of the team, it appears those same sporty concepts are due up again as an “Electric Indigo” steps into the mix. The unashamed embrace of purple is notable on the most basic level (i.e. it’s not particularly a New Balance-y color, all things considered), as is its deployment; a soft gradient takes over the mesh base before a darker counterpart highlights the cushioning pods underfoot.
