If you’ve even a passing interest in sneakers or sneaker culture, this surely isn’t your first encounter with the adidas Jellyfish. Headed by multi-hyphenate visionary Pharrell Williams, the model first came into view on his feet, a sized-up take on the “tech runner” trend that bucked his most visible previous adi work under the HUMANRACE line. Blowing up the proportions of the archival adiStar Control 3, it continued the “exploded” aesthetics he dabbled in via the Superstar 92.
The original “Focus Olive/Orange” release in August of 2025 quickly became one of the defining events of that year in footwear, still registering sales well above $1,000 in larger sizes. The “Black” and “Royal” follow-up featured here only marks the third overall launch; the “Solid Grey” and “Real Green” similarly dropped together in October. While the “Triple Black” speaks for itself aesthetically, the “Royal” counterpart spins off the aesthetics of those two aforementioned pairs, keeping a neutral base overall and coursing aquatic tones in the trim throughout.
