Howard University Is Getting Another Air Jordan 1 Low This Holiday

Nike, Inc.’s connection to the HBCU community is well-established; from the Yardrunner series on the Air Max 95 delivered last year, to a continuous stream of PE heat that hits social media every few months. Jordan Brand’s piece of that puzzle is a bit more narrow in focus, however. Howard University, through public releases and exclusive ones, is no doubt the Jumpman’s chief beneficiary, with no signs of slowing down as we look to Holiday 2026.

With the released 2024 version of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG sporting a white-dominant base, you could’ve reasonably interpreted that colorway as an ode to the school’s away jerseys. If you subscribe to that idea, Jordan Brand will add a home-style “Howard” Jordan 1 Low OG toward the end of this year. As is so often the case, word of this shoe comes alongside its color codes, a split between “Midnight Navy” and multi-color that presents the aquatic shade as its primary. This will mark just the second retail pair dedicated to the school. Of course, that’s supported by a sturdy cache of athlete-only fare; seen on the Jordan 23, the Jordan 4, and genuinely every model in between as revealed in a glitzy on-campus display.

The Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Howard University” is currently queued up for an October 1st release; retail pricing hasn’t been announced just yet.
