When all is said and done, James Harden’s set of teammates will be a genuine murderer’s row, encompassing a massive swath of the defining names from the modern era of hoops. His latest act as a Cleveland Cavalier will see him play Robin to Donovan Mitchell’s Batman, a “1B” status that he’s willingly embraced in several of his post-Rockets stops, from Kevin Durant to Joel Embiid to Kawhi Leonard.

Yet he’s looking to a more villainous source of inspiration as the Harden Vol 10 story continues to play out. To state the obvious up front, this isn’t an official DC Comics collaboration, but the “Joker”-style blend of purple and highlighter green remains shorthand all the same. Though every manner of narrative and storytelling besets the realm of signature basketball shoes, we’re comfortable in regarding this as a more simplified proposition, just a clean color combo rather than any special nod to Harden’s past. Even from that sole aesthetic perspective, a matte finish on the hypnotic exteriors of the silhouette helps this one stand out from the pack.

The adidas Harden Vol. 10 “Joker” is already queued up at retailers with a March 21st release date, commanding the usual $160 retail price.
