The Toronto Raptors from 2016 to 2018 are a prime example: three excellent regular seasons, three straight playoff exits at the hands of LeBron and the Cavaliers. That stretch of dominance serves as the inspiration for the Nike LeBron 23 “LeBronto,” shown here via official images.
Of course, the story eventually flipped. Kawhi Leonard – arguably the greatest trade rental ever – delivered the Raptors their first NBA Championship in 2019, effectively closing the book on the Warriors dynasty. But that breakthrough only came after LeBron’s move to Los Angeles. The three seasons prior were pure heartbreak for the Six, with Cleveland going 12–2 against Toronto in the postseason, including a 2018 sweep when the Raptors entered as the East’s No. 1 seed. Across that span, LeBron averaged a staggering 31.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 7.6 assists.
That dominance is reflected in the LeBron 23 through a Metallic Gold and fossil-like beige palette loaded with intricate detailing. The crown features a reptilian texture, while a raptor skull emblem lands on the heel. Across the upper, hundreds of blazing comets streak through the design – a not-so-subtle nod to extinction-level events and the scoring barrages LeBron unleashed on Toronto.
The Nike LeBron 23 “LeBronto” does not yet have a firm release date, but a Spring/Summer 2026 launch is expected. Adult and grade school sizing will be available. See official images below if you’re set on copping.
