Andrew Rizzo Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: ASICS has dipped into its archive with the return of another retro tech runner. The ASICS GEL-SD Lyte, originally released in 2010, has indeed been pulled back for the modern day, now available in a number of GR colorways as well as some pricier collaborative styles by Comme des Garçons. The model has also been reimagined twice over by ASICS partner Kiko Kostadinov, now set to arrive in a new form dubbed the UB13-S GEL-SD Lyte for April 2026.
Kiko’s ASICS releases might not hit quite like they did a few years ago, but that likely has more to do with output fatigue than any real shift in design language. The Bulgarian designer is still delivering the kind of gorpcore-friendly looks that once had the scene in a frenzy, applying both hardware tweaks and bold color treatments to some of ASICS’ foremost Sportstyle models.
The two main differences to note here are the base layer, with each pair featuring a gradient finish, and the signature offset tongue pull tab. Three colorways are on tap: Brown/Blue, Grey/Orange, and Yellow/Green. All three land April 2nd via the ASICS website, priced at $180 each. See official images below if you’re considering copping.
