Jordan Brand’s enduringly backwards-focused re-release schedule has already mined the aughts. Though it continues to befuddle those whose formative years were in that period, enough time has passed between now and the 2010s that its most defining releases are ripe for their own Retros, something already seen with the Air Jordan 5 “Wolf Grey” to kick off 2026 and set to chalk off another totemic drop with the Air Jordan 4 “Toro Bravo.”
Now pasted across the updated Air Jordan 4 shape, the “Toro Bravo” appears true to its 2013 appearance, mixing up an inversion of usual Bulls coloring with fiery uppers and monochrome trim, a combo of “Cement Grey,” white, and black. Though many other AJ4s have tacked “Nike Air” branding onto their non-OG arrangements, this stays true to Jumpman backtabs, though it does arrive with the somewhat anachronistic “face box.” Initially exciting the nascent sneaker internet on the feet of brand titan Carmelo Anthony, the “Toro Bravo” would go on to be one of the defining releases of its year, creating a wide foundation for this Retro to capitalize on some 13 years later.
Although the Air Jordan 4 has been a catalog leader in many respects throughout the past decade, the “Toro Bravo” actually takes cues from the Air Jordan 5, adapting the fiery “Raging Bull” colorway that touched down three years before this pair’s initial release. In 2023, the same stylings would branch onto the Air Jordan 6, creating a successive lineage that unites some of Mike’s most celebrated sneakers.
The Air Jordan 4 “Toro Bravo” remains on track for a May 2nd, 2026 release, commanding a $220 retail price in adult sizing.
