No ABS Challenge Needed: The 2026 MLB City Connect Jerseys By Nike Are Hot

No ABS Challenge Needed: The 2026 MLB City Connect Jerseys By Nike Are Hot

Beginning in 2021, Nike’s City Connect jerseys with Major League Baseball evolved team jerseys into storytelling platforms, touching on unique traditions outside the game of baseball through brightly colored on-field threads. With the 2026 season, Nike continues to push that idea forward with the latest wave of MLB City Connect jerseys.

Developed in partnership with Major League Baseball and Fanatics, the new collection builds on the foundation established by previous City Connect releases, leaning deeper into the cultural identity of each franchise. Rather than revisiting team history, the 2026 editions reflect how each club exists today and how they continue to be shaped by its community and growing fanbase.

Eight teams return for this next chapter, including the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, and Texas Rangers. Each worked closely with Nike to translate local stories, values, and regional influences into designs that feel personal rather than prescribed.

The latest Nike MLB City Connect jerseys will be available beginning April 9 via Nike, MLB Shop, Fanatics, and select retailers. See below for a breakdown of all eight teams.

Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves 2026 City Connect uniform blends past and present by drawing inspiration from the club’s iconic 1980s powder blue era when Braves games reached national audiences via superstation broadcasts. The updated look introduces a brighter blue palette, modernized “Atlanta” script, and red piping that ties heritage to today’s team colors. Details like the “ATL” sleeve patch and dimensional wordmark nod to that broadcast era, while player-informed updates such as the V-neck construction ensure performance remains front and center.

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates 2026 City Connect uniform leans fully into the city’s unmistakable black-and-gold identity. Built around the idea of being “gold-blooded,” the design consists of a rugged, tradition-rooted wordmark that draws inspiration from the city’s iconic sister bridges, including the Roberto Clemente Bridge, while subtle red accents reference the Jolly Roger’s bandana, adding a modern edge without disrupting the core palette.

San Diego Padres

The San Diego Padres 2026 City Connect uniform continues to celebrate the club’s unique binational identity, drawing from the traditions, landscapes, and communities that define the San Diego region. Rooted in the spirit of Día de los Muertos, the design honors family and remembrance through details like a La Catrina sleeve patch set against an aqua backdrop. A rich palette of bone, obsidian, marigold, and gold reflects the region’s natural beauty, while marigold accents and floral detailing nod to the holiday’s themes of life and celebration.

Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers 2026 City Connect uniform celebreates the cultural influence of Mexico woven into the state’s identity. Centered around the word “Tejas” which is derived from the Caddo word for “friend,” the design is brought to life through lettering inspired by the club’s 1980s uniforms. A rich cochineal red palette nods to a historically significant dye in Mexican culture, while details like a raised-weave “T” logo, papel picado state patch, and mariachi-inspired patterns highlight craftsmanship and tradition. The charro-influenced textures and vaquero references tie the uniform back to the roots of Mexican cowboy culture.

Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles 2026 City Connect uniform is centered around a bold “BMORE” wordmark with the Oriole Bird perched up top. A sleeve patch nods to the brass home run markers along Eutaw Street, while the jock tag features the stadium’s iconic wrought-iron clock. Orange accents throughout the uniform draw from the brickwork of the warehouse and surrounding row homes, while the historic Camden “B” ties it all back to Baltimore’s rich baseball lineage.

Cincinnati Reds

The Cincinnati Reds 2026 City Connect uniform builds on the momentum of its predecessor by reintroducing pinstripes in a modern tone-on-tone execution. Additional details, including a darker red sleeve and intentionally cut-off striping at the shoulder, nod to the team’s vest-style uniforms from the early 2000s, creating a look that bridges eras while staying rooted in Cincinnati’s unmistakable baseball DNA.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers 2026 City Connect uniform expands beyond the city to celebrate the full identity of Wisconsin. A layered color palette draws from the state’s lakes, shorelines, and iconic summer sunsets, pairing cool blues and creams with warm gradient accents that reflect life on the water. The “Wisco” wordmark and script detailing nod to early 20th-century Brewers history while channeling the aesthetics of supper clubs and vintage brewery labels. The bobber-and-baseball jock tag, farmland-inspired striping, and a refreshed Barrelman patch featuring the full state outline highlight Wisconsin’s outdoor culture and statewide pride. It’s finished with the state motto “Forward” on the collar.

Kansas City Royals

The Kansas City Royals 2026 City Connect “Forever Fountains” uniform is centered around a bold gradient palette, drawing from Kansas City’s “City of Fountains” identity by blending vibrant fuchsia tones with signature blues to reflect both the energy of its people and its iconic landmarks. Heritage is honored through an updated “R” logo inspired by the club’s original 1969 mark, while a heart emblem reinforces Kansas City’s place as the nation’s heartland.
