Like that top-of-year release, this pair draws from the Jordan Flight Club mail-in membership program that ran briefly in the ’80s and ’90s. Before the online message board era and websites like ours, it offered early looks at upcoming product and exclusive content you couldn’t find anywhere else.
This Air Jordan 1 takes a subtle approach to that prompt, incorporating the Jordan Flight Club logo on the insoles alongside a series of MJ posters that may have actually been mailed out back in the day. Black leather covers the quarter and toe box, followed by black canvas overlays with Sail contrast stitching. The wings logos are done in red, while brown gum soles round things out underfoot.
