Matt Varga Not that he’d want it any other way, but Anthony Edwards has his hands full. As he and the Wolves grapple with what immediately presented as a dog fight (Dawg fight?) of a series with the Spurs, his rose-tinted marketing machine picked up anew to promote the adidas Believe That 1, a shoe he and the brand have presented as a “mixtape” takedown counterpart to his earnest signature line.
Of course, his full-fledged series remains the true point of intrigue, especially as preliminary images of the adidas Anthony Edwards 3 have started to circle around the internet. The general contours of what makes this third entry stand out are intact, fitting into the aggressive design language that’s paced its predecessors by extending the synthetic anchors of the 2 into more of a cage-like arrangement reminiscent of the 1. A lower-cut build meets additional returning aspects like a thin piece of anchoring at the toe, with the expected return of a propulsion plate underfoot and Lightstrike Pro cushioning.
For this colorway in particular, this marks something of a divergence from what we’ve seen in the past. Broadly, Ant Edwards shoes have favored dusky palettes; this is anything but. A white mesh foundation sets the tone before sharp gradients of titular “Sky Tint” shading become something closer to royal blue at the top of each jagged protrusion.
Concrete release info for the adidas Anthony Edwards 3 “Sky Tint” isn’t available at the time of this writing, but all indications point towards a November release date for the silhouette and a $130 retail price.
