With the exception of the 1906L, in no small part due to its overall virality, each branch off of the original 1906R has seen a number of colorways as the “new shoe smell” lingers around them, before becoming far sparser and specialized later in their runs. The 1906U absolutely fits the bill there, rather prolific as its journey began (included with some collab fare), yet now only deployed in few and far between applications. As it returns to shelves, it’s reaching for a sensible black/white grey, allowing the layered composition that brings it its claim to fame to really sit in stark contrast given the differences in brightness, yet still create a cohesive whole nonetheless.
The New Balance 1906U in this black/white colorway should be coming to New Balance channels in short order, seeing as overseas retailers have already started selling this pair. Be ready for the standard $170 retail price upon arrival.
