Andrew Rizzo adidas has made sure fans of all its sponsored World Cup teams have plenty of gear to buy in the lead-up to this summer’s tournament, but if we’re truly pocket-watching, Mexico stands in a class of its own. The co-host country is currently represented by well over 200 pieces of apparel, accessories, and footwear on the adidas website, and even still, the Three Stripes doesn’t appear to be done yet.
New to adidas.com is this adidas Gazelle “Mexico,” dressed with red, white, and green stripes in step with the country’s flag. A closer look reveals subtle translucent detailing layered over each stripe, adding a little extra dimension to the otherwise straightforward palette. The midsole and tongue both arrive in white, the latter punctuated by green Trefoil branding. The clearest Mexico callout appears on the heel tab, where a red finish frames the national team crest at center.
